Important Information Regarding Assessments

All the Levels Assessment information can be found on the Parelli web site. Click Here to be taken directly to the Assessment Criteria and Assessment Task page of the Parelli web site.

The Assessment Criteria are the exact papers that Susan will use as her reference during the assessment. As well, the Level 1 Tasks are the exact tasks that Susan will ask you to accomplish.

Please review the criteria and the tasks to ensure you know what will be asked of you during your assessment.

Live Assessments:

Live assessments may be accomplished when Susan comes to your facility to assess you in person. These assessments of course are a good way to have instant feedback on your skill level.

Video Assessments:

All the information above regarding the Assessment Criteria and Task sheets apply to Video assessments as well. While filming your assessment please try to do the tasks in the order that they appear on the sheet (unless they are resubmits). The tasks are set up in a way that one task leads into the next task. That will be the most efficient way for you to film it and the most efficient way for Susan to assess as well.

Please try to video during daylight hours or indoors with good lights at night. Videos shot at night with an outdoor light are very difficult to see the details and therefore difficult to assess properly.

Please send a self–addressed stamped return envelope for the return of your video. Also include a check for $3 per task that appears on the video.

Video Coaching:

Video Coaching is one of the great things that Parelli Professionals offer. For those of you that can’t have one of us come out to your facility video coaching is the answer for you. Just video you and your horse and the areas that you want help on and Susan will watch the video and give you helpful feedback on things you might try or improve with your horse. Video Coaching is $2 per minute of tape.
